Albemarle H.S. Drama Dept.

Directed by Fay E. Cunningham

Coming soon to the AHS Auditorium: Mary Poppins April 27-30, 2017!

Congratulations to the Cast of Mary Poppins!

The rehearsal schedule is being added to the website calendar. For more details about each event, simply click on it.

Changes in the schedule will be posted here and on the calendar**

*Sudden schedule changes are not guaranteed to make it to the official calendar on time, so it is crucial for actors to check the drama board and contact parents about them.

** Show dates will remain the same, regardless of rehearsal changes.

The Spring season has officially begun for the AHS Players. Congratulations to those who auditioned! Please remember that there are more ways to get involved in the productions through crews such as Makeup, Hair, Costuming, Set, Props, and Lights/Sound. These crews and positions are only open to Albemarle High School
students. We will be looking for parent volunteers as well to help supervise and feed the students during Tech Week.  Parents and patrons can stay posted on the crucial days to come such as rehearsals, competitions and show days by checking the website weekly and students are highly encouraged to check the Drama Board located across the hall from Mrs. Fay Cunningham's office to stay up to date with scheduling and events as well.

About us: The award-winning Albemarle Players are part of the Albemarle High School Drama Department located in Charlottesville, Virginia. We tackle a variety of shows and approach different venues of theatre each year. Every year we produce a fall show, a spring musical, a student production and we strive to produce two competion pieces alongside our award winning Forensics team. We are consistantly accepting new members to the drama department, inviting both non-drama-club members and members alike because we feel that every student should have an opportunity of being a part of something great regardless of their courses and schedules. The drama department offers four levels of drama as classes. Outside ofclass, students may partake in any of the shows, the improvisation team, Off The Cuff, as well as the forensics team. Every year, the department offers shows that both students and parents can be involved in as much or as little as they would like.

If you have donated to our program and we didn't get to thank you personally, please let us assure you: we do appreciate your generosity to the arts in Albemarle County.
